How do I book?
You can book by telephone – 01986 896 896, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm, complete an online booking request form (see Book a Journey section), email your request to info@bactcommunitytransport.org.uk. Please note that booking requests can only be received and actioned during office hours, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm.
Do I have to book in advance?
We need at least an hour’s notice of a booking. Please check availability by telephone.
Can I flag the bus down if I see it on the road?
No the Buzzabout bus service has to be pre-booked by using any of the booking methods available.
How much is the fare?
Fares are in line with those of other bus operators and vary depending on the mileage of your journey. The fare table is provided below.

How long is the return fare valid for?
A return fare is valid on the day it is issued.
How can the fare be paid for?
Pay by contactless on the bus (signal providing) or cash on the bus.
Please note if you do not show up for your journey and do not cancel it within 24 hours before you travel, you will be charged the full fare.
What are the operating times of the bus?
Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30am – 16:30pm
How many customers can use the bus at once?
The Buzzabout bus can accommodate 14 passengers and has room for 1 wheelchair.

What if I want to travel to somewhere else along the route?
The Buzzabout service takes passengers to both Somerleyton and Lowestoft train stations, allowing for onward rail travel to other destinations. Bungay Area Community Transport (BACT), who operate the Buzzabout service, also operate the Connecting Communities service covering the whole Waveney area and can provide a link to those services. The fare system on Connecting Communities is mileage based, the same as for the Buzzabout bus.
